A polar bear mother shields her two cubs in the wide Arctic snow. Bright calm for bedrooms, nursery corners and hallways.

Against an almost white horizon the female stands calmly in profile, while both young animals press close to her dense fur. Fine snowflakes drift through the still air, and a bare shrub on the left sets the only dark accent. The cool colour temperature and the diffuse winter light make the scene look soft, quiet and almost weightless.

Above the bed, over a nursery dresser or at the end of a narrow hallway the bright motif comes into its own. Scandinavian interiors, pale wood and soft grey tones suit the Arctic scene especially well — it widens the room visually and calms it noticeably.

Quiet wildlife photography that brings shelter and Arctic vastness into everyday life.
